Home Decor Tips For Autumn

Happy Autumn everyone! As the air is getting colder and the leaves turn orange and brown, you know that the summer heat is behind and we are approaching Halloween and Thanksgiving.

Once the calendar turns into September, it’s time for us to have an autumn makeover for ourselves and our homes. Here is a list of tips for your home decor this autumn.

Fuzzy Blankets

Autumn means cosy and what else means cosy than fuzzy blankets? Soft blankets in the seasonal colors are the go-to thing you need from the store. Seasonal colors are earthy colors like brown, burgundy red, dark neutral colors and orange. You can feel the Halloween vibes.

Candles/Diffusers/Insences

Even if you are a candle parent or not, the spicy scent of autumn is an important step in decorating your house for Autumn.

The most popular scents of the season are: pumpkin, Cinnamon(my favorite) and ginger spice. Once you get inside your house and take a deep breath, you can feel yourself more relaxed than ever.

Moody Paint

Nothing screams Autumn season than a furniture makeover. To embrace the season, you can paint your cabinets and bookshelves in a moody paint color. Dark green is the perfect color. The dark green cabinets against dark wooden floors and furniture create a perfect atmosphere for curling up with a book on a chilly evening.

Dried Plants

Who says you need to throw plants when dried? You can keep them on the table as a centerpiece. Dried plants look stylish when surrounded by dark and warm colors. This is another go-to decoration for autumn.

Layered Pumpkins

Pumpkins are the symbol of autumn which makes it a must to have some pumpkins lying around the house and garden. Who said pumpkins are just for Halloween?

When in doubt, layer pumpkins. An assortment of pumpkins in a range of hues is a failsafe way to transition your home for autumn. Place them on your kitchen island, bookshelf, or a coffee table for a fun look.

Orange Velvet Accents

A dose of velvet never cannot add warmth to a room. To celebrate fall, go for an orange velvet accent, like a throw pillow or a curved sofa, which can be the highlight of your space year-round.

Nature Inspired Tablecloth

A tablecloth adorned in a floral motif is an easy way to add a sophisticated touch to a fall table arrangement. Add elegant place cards and monogrammed cloth napkins to make it feel even more special.

Dried Entryway Wreath

Even if wreaths are more common around Christmas, you can still have a wreath up as a decoration on your front door. A wreath made by plants in brown and orange tones with fruits like blackberries is the best decision for a good welcome to the house.

Autumn Chandelier

Last but not least, an autumn chandelier is the final touch for your seasonal makeover. For this chandelier, swap the crystals with foliage and fall colors, once you turn on the light, everything will look like it was meant to be the way it is.
