A healthy lifestyle usually means more than just a healthy diet, a good sleep schedule and an excellent care of your mental health. A healthy lifestyle also means breaking bad habits that drag you down. Successful people have good habits that keep them clean, healthy and positive. To become a successful person, you should know the bad habits you have, which keep you in a toxic circle in your life. Here is a list of bad habits you need to break and what to do instead.
Bad Habits To Break
Smoking

Like any addiction, smoking is hard to quit. This is one of the worst bad habits, which is not only unhealthy but also time-consuming and money-spending habit.
It is difficult to quit, and it requires a lot of patience, hard-work and perseverance. It is even worse when your friends and family are smokers and smoke in front of you, especially if you have a weak sense of willpower.
Not Drinking Enough Water

Water is essential for your body, as the human body itself is made with water. Drinking enough water keeps you healthy and improves your life, if you do not drink enough, you will have health problems and feel tired.
Doctors say that on average, men should drink 15.5 cups (3.7 L) of fluids a day, and women should drink about 11.5 cups (2.7 L) of fluids a day. This may vary depending upon your age, physical activity, overall health and weather.
Summer is a special season to drink water and sometimes you are required to drink more water than usual to stay hydrated.
A good idea to keep track of drinking water is to install an app on your phone to remind you how much water you still have to drink, especially when you have ADHD like me and often forget to drink water.
Eating Late at Night

This may be another hard to quit habit, especially when you have a work schedule that doesn’t allow you to eat dinner early. Eating late at night makes you unhealthy and also makes it hard for you to lose weight if you want to do that.
Not Getting Enough Exercise

Physical activity has lots and lots of health benefits (seriously, the list goes on and on). Not only does it keep you looking and feeling great, but exercising regularly can help you lose weight and boost your energy. Exercising regularly can also help you live longer. Additionally, exercise keeps your heart healthy; lowers your risk of some types of chronic disease, such as breast cancer and some aggressive forms of prostate cancer; improves blood flow to your brain, keeping you sharp; and helps with blood sugar control.
Adults should aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity, such as brisk walking, each week, plus 2 or more days of muscle-strengthening activity or 75 minutes of vigorous activity (e.g., running) and 2 or more days of resistance training.
Using Only Olive Oil To Cook

This may sound strange, bur Olive oil is not that healthy for you. You can use olive oil in salads, but frying everything in olive oil is not as healthy as you think.
When you heat olive oil to its smoke point, the beneficial compounds in oil start to degrade, and potentially health-harming compounds form. So if you’re cooking over high heat, skip it and choose a different oil.
Good Habits You Need To Adopt
Now that the list of bad habits is over, you need to focus on the good habits you should adopt.
Healthy Relationships

Cut off toxic friendships, relationships and everyone that makes you feel bad(envy people that don’t support you, people that constantly make you feel bad about your body and abusive partners/friends/parents) Choose to surround yourself with positive people that support you, people that help you and are happy for you. People that challenge you healthily.
