Synopsis: Tory Bodeen grew up in a small town from South Carolina, under strict laws, ruled by his father Hannibal Bodeen, an abusive, alcoholic father that abused his daughter verbally and physically all her life. She finds an oasis in her best friend Hope Lavelle, with whome she can finally be happy and spend her childhood. When her little Hope dies, bruttally raped and murdered, at the fragile age of eight, she struggles with guilt and leaves her parents and her town for a better life in New York.

After eighteen years from the tragedy, she finds herself on the way to her old house, determined to solve the murder of her friend and have a small buisiness, knowing that people will look at her, suspecting her involvment in the crime.

She then finds Kincade Lavelle, a gentleman farmer; rich, sweet, and charming. He was also willing to know the fate of his  young sister, which troubles the two of them.

The story gets complicated when the two of them fall in love, despite his mother`s hate over ms Bodeen.

My review:

Nora Roberts was just another author when I entered the library and so the book for sale. I had no idea about her and her book, until I bought the book.

Little did I know that I will fall in love with the book and her writing style. It sure was full of suspence and it made me play detective, reading it. Page after page, I was sure who was the killer, until it slapped in my face with an end that I couldn`t concieve.

I simply loved the couple Tory and Kincade made and their love story made me shed a few tears. I loved the time spent on this book, and surely, I will read more from her.

I highly recommend this book for those that are interested in a good mystery romance.
