Overview from Amazon
How many times can you be knocked down and get back up again? Could you imagine trying to commit suicide on Christmas Eve with your infant daughter tucked up in bed waiting for santa? What if everytime you tried to get out of the rut, someone else was there to slap you down? Victoria Prendergast went through all this and after finding her feet in the British Army, months of drug abuse and bouts of severe depression, she managed to wade through the hurt and pain to fight another day.
THE ARMY, DEPRESSION, DRUGS AND ME looks at the real life experiences of a downtrodden daughter growing up on the streets of Inverness becoming an excited mother in the northern City of Wakefield and finally to the coming of age in the British Army. The hope that one day her mother will get rid of her own battle with alcoholism so life at home would become more stable. Her late teens were spent dodging drug dealers and lending money to pay for that one hit on Friday night. The Monday morning blues that led to spiralling debt and depression that would nearly lead to suicide and finally the joy of being accepted by the Army but then having to give it all up after finding love.
My review
Since the moment I opened the book, I started to see a person that couldn’t pull herself together and it was only the beginning of a complicated journey, full of obstacles, drugs, motivation to your better self. As I was reading, I had a few times I cried and a few times that I got angry, which means that her writing style brings you into the story. In my opinion, the book has a lot of potential and could be more popular than it is at the moment if there would be two things changed at it:
- The title is really long. (Sorry not sorry) If you will find a shorter title, people will find your book more atractive. (less is more, darling)
- The cover is too simplistic. If you will choose a different image like the two examples below with a shorter title, it would be bomb.

The two issues are the only reason I rated 4.9/5 🌸 and not the sharp rate. It is only about aesthetics.
That was my review.
Peace out🌺
*sorry if the review is too short darling but there is nothing else to say negatively 😂😂😂*
